How do I monitor SEO performance?

Organic Traffic

And more precisely, the term “organic” (or “natural”) traffic refers to the number of visitors coming from SEO services in UK results (as opposed to a paid source of traffic). Organic traffic is therefore a metric enabling you to measure how many visitors came from searches made on a search engine.

Keyword Ranking

Keyword rankings in SEO refer to your page's specific spot on the search results pages for a particular search query. When people enter search terms into Google that relate to your page's subject matter, whichever spot your URL is shown in is your keyword ranking.

SERP Visibility

It is defined as a ratio between the query search volume and a click through rate of a rank it currently has. The output is a metric that reflects shifts in ranks based on their potential.

Click-Through Rate

A good click-through rate should be between 2-5%, depending on the industry you're in. For more industry-specific metrics, we'd suggest checking out our report.

Website Authority Over Time

You can find out the Domain Authority of any website using Moz's Link Explorer, the MozBar (Moz's free SEO toolbar), or in the SERP Analysis section of Keyword Explorer.

Backlinks

A backlink is when one website links to another with an anchor text. An example of a backlink is any article you find that links to another source or website. You can find examples of website backlinks all over the internet, especially on popular blog sites that link back to relevant content.
